Q) A brief description of your biz
The online store was launched in Nov 2003. In 6 months (May 2004), we moved into a brick-and-mortar location which is the current showroom in Delfi Orchard. A consistent unique branding and characteristic products are key to MEV’s success. The brand has become increasingly known amongst international nursing labels. You will find MEV is offered through our worldwide network of distributors and retailers, alongside established US brape. MEV is targeted at today’s sassy contemporary moms who are conscious about the quality and the designs/ styling of what they wear. Our advertising concepts / creatives, reflect the brand and its positioning clearly – this is fundamental to building a consistent recognisable brand. Product wise, quality natural fabrication and a figure-flattering fit are characteristic of MEV apparel. Nearly all of our garments are made of cotton or a blend of cotton. This is a key comfort factor in our products, especially since it is for breastfeeding and expecting moms.
Q) What do you get MOST out of working from home.
Flexibility! You have the ability and freedom to organize the time spent on your children, family and work. You do need to hone up on organizational skills too. Also, running one’s own business takes more commitment and dedication, pretty much like having a career in the corporate world. It has more at stake as you are responsible for the survival of the business. I am now balancing my time between more demands than before (2 kids and their growing needs, a growing business and managing housekeeping matters); always carefully managing my time and improving my multi-tasking skills. And while I am always trying to maintain that balance, I absolutely enjoy watching the kids grow up around me; taking full responsibility with everything they do / learn as opposed to having a babysitter/maid doing that.
