let’s have a break for some hobby fun!
Today I took some time to pull out my Barbie collectibles from my wardrobe. I promised my friend, Char to send her my Barbie pictures for her Doll Diaries Blog. The thing is I’m never that sort of girl who grew up with a Barbie, I didn’t have a luxurious childhood. Collecting these Barbies was to satisfy that childhood deprivation! Well, not really. I was too captivated by the beautiful miniature gowns - they were irresisible! So let’s take a break from the hassle and stress of work and relax over some hobby fun.

This is my first Barbie, my first ever, which I bought in 1998. I am a fan of Van Gogh’s Sunflower and when I knew about the launch of Barbie Sunflower, I placed my order right away! Isn’t she beautiful?

Then the addiction for another Barbie collectible continued when I was introduced to Barbie Couture. I couldn’t resist the bright orange satin gown and the intricate motifs on her pink fitted top. What a real princess!

Finally, this was created to celebrate Barbie’s 40th Anniversary. Her black and silvery gown was inspired by the bathing suit she was clad in the very beginning in 1959. And that was my last Barbie collectible!
It got too expensive!

I had that first Barbie. My family was not wealthy either. We ususally got popular items after they’d been out a few years and prices had gone down. But that Christmas I got the first Barbie, in the black and white swinsuit, with the black bubble hairdo. We didn’t know the phenominon she would become, so I played with her until she wore out ad was replaced with other wonders. If only we’d known …
Yea.. then you would have a rare collectible!Â
