From a different point of view. The reality is that any business built without responsibility will never succeed! People who are spamming or any other unethical method of building their business will only attract back to them what they have given. So, we deal with blocking the spam and in the long run, the joke is on the person who tried it anyway. People have to accept responsibility of self destruction with methods such as these.

I’ve had good success using the Askimet plug-in for WordPress. It’s a free plug-in and has caught almost all the dozens of spam comments I was receiving every day. You can download it at http://akismet.com/.

I had to start moderating comments after I got spam-bombed on Christmas Day. I had moderation and word verification both eneabled for a while, but have found that either is adequate on it’s own, and moderation is less annoying to visitors than word verification.
