Back from break and looking forward

Posted on February 24, 2007 by dc

I’m glad to be back blogging again after a week-long break during this lunar New Year festive season. I have had a lovely time in Singapore catching up with loved ones, close friends and some shopping. This break marks the end of the low season and work will be picking up next week onwards. This would mean I need to place Clayton in a half day playgroup so that we can be more productive and efficient in running our home business.

Balancing work and motherhood is a challenge I’m currently facing and I must admit that it does bring about frustrations on many occasions. With Clayton at ‘Terrific Two’, he is demanding more attention and quality playtime. As much as I enjoy fixing puzzles and reading picture cards with him, I must arrive to a creative solution to run my home business effectively.

So my objective in the next couple of weeks is to place Clayton in a playschool. Wish me the best in my quest.

    Doris,
Glad to see you are back and I hope you enjoyed your time away.

I’m sure you will find a program for Little C that will fit both of your needs. As much as you may feel guilty, the socialization and chance to start building friendships is so good for them. My youngest is in a half day school 5 days a week and she loves it.

Yes, it was truly a good break though I did miss blogging! I’ll keep you updated on my quest for Clayton’s playschool. Thank you for your encouragement.

My daughter is 2 years old and is demanding for more attention too. I sent her to a half day childcare last month so that I can be more productive. It turned out to be a nightmare for her. She hates her father since then because he was the one who sent her there in the morning, and I pick her up 6 hours later. She will cry so much and it hurts to see her going through ‘separation anxiety’. I think that childcare center is not suitable for her. I should have spent more time searching for a right one for her.

Anyway, now I put her in a 2 hours playgroup, she’s so much happier and looked forward everyday to going there. My mom-in-law picks her from playgroup on alternate days, take her out for lunch and bring her back.

Now I work with an ease mind, knowing my little girl is happy. All the best, Doris. :-)

Hi Ling, thanks for dropping by and for sharing your story cum experience. I do believe that it’s important to find the right playgroup for our little ones, that’s why I’m doing my research in the last couple of weeks. I should be more diligent in my search. Glad to hear that your girl is happy at the new place. Most of all, you can accomplish more during those precious hours when she is in school!
