15 FREE ways to bring in new readers to your blog/site

This is a not a new topic yet it still interest most of us on HOW to bring in new readers to our blogs/sites. Here are a compilaton of 15 FREE ways and if you have any suggestions or anything to add, leave your comments and share them here. 1. Comment on blogs – Leave valuable/honest feedback or comments in other bloggers’ posts. If you leave a good comment, the blogger will return you a visit. 2. Join Forums – Find a forum of your passion and interest and meet other like-minded individuals. Forums can be a great place to mingle, learn and share knowledge with others. 3. Interview other bloggers or experts in the field – Conduct an interview or start a special feature of your niche. 4. Promote a contest or giveaway – Start a contest and do a giveaway – can be digital or physical product – it’s all up to you and get other fellow bloggers to talk about it. 5. Use Trackbacks – Write a creative post about another blogger’s post and use a trackback. 6. Educate Readers – Share a subject of current interest and create a learning and discussion platform among your readers. 7. Offline Promotion – Print namecards with your blog URLs on it. 8. Search Engine Optimization – Optimizing your blog is the way to be found in search engines which will eventually increase the readers to your blog. 9. Quality Content – We all know this, content is king. Don’t let the design of your blog overtakes this important point. Quality content brings new visitors and retain existing ones. 10. Blog Carnivals – Find a topic or carnival of your interest and participate in it. You often end up in related topics and readers are targeted. 11. Memes – There are many memes around. Find one that you like and participate in it. If your post is interesting, you end up with more readers. This is a great way to know and meet other bloggers too. 12. Regular Posting – Take care of your blogs. Tend to it regularly. Keeping a blog is likened to nurturing a growing plant. The more time and efforts you spend in tending it, the growth is faster and healthier. 13. Guest Bloggers – Invite guest blogger/contributor for your blog. This is a nice way not only to add freshness to the content of your blog. Besides, you build a relationship with fellow bloggers. Don’t forget to give a link back to the guest blogger’s blog/site. 14. Newsletters – Send e-zine or regular newsletters to your readers or subscribers. If your newsletters are content-rich and interesting, chances are they may be forwarded to other readers. 15. Social Networks - Digg your article or join myBlogLog and other social networking sites. The BlogLog widget allows you to view your visitors (provided they are on myBlogLog too) to your blog. You can get to know your visitor by going to his blog and a relationship can be built from there.
