How secure is your home office?
If you, like me, have a home office, I will be interested to know what measures do you take as far as security issues are concerned. What I’m saying here is you are taking a vacation and will be leaving behind your valuable laptops and office equipment behind, do you have the assurance that they will be safe during your absence?
DH and myself have been discussing this issue as nothing in the house is more valuable than the information in our laptops. Even though our house is insured with a theft insurance policy, nothing can replaced a stolen laptop for instance. We used to think that a good lock to the house will be the answer until I read that a bump key can open almost any lock in seconds! I don’t even believe that an 11 year old girl can do the job with a $5 bump key she got from the internet. (Watch video here)

This alarming news may threaten even the security in houses now that crooks know about this ‘hidden’ truth. But looking at it in the positive light, perhaps a bump key proof lock may be the way to offer better protection and security for our home offices. Other preventive measures would be to install a reliable home security system or video surveillance.
What about you? What security measures do you undertake to protect your home office?
