The Ultimate Guide to Productivity meme
Lately, I have been tagged by different blogging buddies in the last few months and I must admit that I have not done every single one of them. This interesting one came from Gayla who asked me to share on my Top Productivity Tip. It gets me thinking and reflecting for a whle and I actually have to ask myself ‘what helps me stay productive’?
The Ultimate Guide to Productivity meme was created by Ben Yoskovitz from Instigator with the intention to get everyone to share their top productivity tips and with that, helped us to become more productive, profitable and may I add, successful! Ben will do a compilation when all tips are submitted and if you like to be included in the roundup, just drop him a comment with your participation.
Back to the meme, my personal top productivity tip is: Staying Focused. Period.
As a work-at-home mom, I face the challenges of balancing work, motherhood, housework and personal time. So in order to be productive, I need to be focused in whatever I do, whether it’s designing a brochure for our upcoming seminar, cooking for Clayton, replying emails to my clients or updating my blogs. Without the power of focus, I would be anxious, uptight, disorganized and unproductive.
For that to happen, I need to be clear of what I need to get done in a day. I must admit that I don’t always have the discipline to Stay Focused. Sometimes, I allow distractions of the day to slide in and rob my productive time of completing my duties and fulfilling my responsibilities. Distractions can be spending too much time chatting on instant messenger, getting on the phone for extended time or ‘over-blogging’.
So I constantly remind myself to be focused in whatever I do – small or big, business or personal. And when I am in line with the power of focus, I find myself accomplishing more within a shorter time.
