A spill from my heart
I’m feeling a little sad today. I didn’t know I was affected by this until a short chat on msn with a good friend. Yesterday, my doctor told me that I had asthma and put me on an inhaler and some medications. I wasn’t pleased to hear that cos I would never dream or believe that asthma would hit me.
This persistent cough I have been having for years led to an asthmatic condition. Couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with rhinitis and it was common for rhinitis sufferers to be associated with eczema and asthma. I told the ENT specialist confidently that I had eczema but not asthma.
Anyhow, due to this, I have to officially put a stop to nursing. I was on the road of weaning Clayton since the first day of 2007 but had kept just one feed in the wee hours of the morning. He was reluctant to stop that… and I realized that I was too! So I made a decision to end this nursing journey two days ago and I didn’t know it was a painful decision for me. His cries made me want to give in. I held him so close to me while he cried and wailed for I-don’t-know-how-long… I was too tired to check the time.
But I know that this will do my health good as well as for him. I hope that he would eventually stop waking up at 5am in the morning and sleep through. I am planning on a detox once all medications are completed. I can’t go on long-term medication for this mild asthma… this disease has to go for good – no medications. It’s time to give my body a big clean up after my pregnancy, nursing and the years of negligence.

HUGS Doris! Create some cuddle times to stand in for the nursing (I know it is not the same) to help your with the transition.
Sorry about the asthma too. Do some reading up on the nutrition aspect of it – you may be able to use supplements and foods to heal yourself quicker.
