Not too long ago, I stumbled upon a wonderful community site for women called, All for Women. I invited the young founder for a HOW feature and here is her story…
My name is Leigh, and I am a WAHM of 3 and live in Sydney, Australia with my wonderful husband and our furry family.

I own and operate All for Women. All for Women is an online community for all kinds of every day Women to connect with other women, chat, make friends, and get support and advice on all stages of life. We have students to Grandmothers and everything in between.

All for Women was founded in April 2005. I felt there was a lack of general forums for Women that weren’t all about parenting, fashion or crafts. Some where that women could come for a friendly chat and get advice and support on a whole range of topics.

Based in Australia, we have a large number of Australian members and content, but enjoy an increasingly large number of women from all around the world. Along side our hugely popular forums, we have a links directory for women, a Top Women’s sites list we have also just added a new blog.

All for Women originally did not start out as a business. I have had previous experience with starting and running forums and online communities as well as web design. It is something I really enjoy and poured many MANY hours and $$ into just for the love of it. I love learning about marketing, SEO, monetisation etc. I read as much as I can, my feed reader is over flowing, and am constantly learning new things. After 18mths all my hard work started to pay off and All for Women is growing in leaps and bounds and making good, ever increasing revenue.

My advice to women who are looking to start out in online business is not to be fooled into thinking making money online and working from home is easy. There are no short cuts or get rich quick schemes, its no cakewalk, you will still need to work hard. Something I wished I’d have started with is working hard at forming good work habits early on. Plan your day, prioritise your time and fight the procrastination monster!

I feel so lucky, I love what I do, my job is to help women and it is rewarding every day.

    What a fantastic article.

I have been a member of AFW for over a year and it has really kept my sanity. The friendships I have made and support given and received is just amazing. It is so great to get other womens opinions and ideas, and be able to just chat.
I hope others reading this article will have a look at AFW and benefit from the forum, as I and so many other women have

    Thank You
