Thursday Thirteen – My 13 Travel Must-Haves

My 13 Travel Must-Haves
1. Tea Tree Oil – the most effective antiseptic, antifungal and antiviral solution for any scrapes, cuts, burns, pimples, stings, bites…
2. Good walking shoes – I’ve walked in Camper, RM Williams, sports sneaker but Crocs is the best.
3. My Samsonite luggage – it’s sturdy, tough and water resistant
4. Digital Camera – this is a must, must, must – I capture every moment – people, sights and things around me.
5. Water bottle – you can call me a camel. I like to know that I have water with me whenever a sip is needed.
6. Cell phone – can’t leave home without this one – all my contacts are in the phone!
7. Credit cards – putting my shopping purchases and trip expenses on the card is safer than bringing too much cash – you just never know.
8. Passport – I don’t have to explain why this is a must
9. Cosmetic pouch – all my beauty regime items are in packed in miniature containers – cleanser, toner, moisturizer, sun block, loose powder, blusher, lip stick… how can a woman travel with a personal pouch like this? You know what I mean.
10. Travel insurance – this is useful in case of any medical expenses abroad, delayed flights, cancelled flights, loss of luggage… and let’s not forget of a possible air accident (*fingers crossed*)
11. Hotel information – make sure you have on hand all the details of booked accommodations – maps, tel numbers, confirmation print outs…
12. Maps and guides – this is only necessary if you are travelling to that country for the first time. I love to print the important ones from the internet
13. Clothing – don’t forget this very important thing. My friend packed her luggage with everything her baby needed for the trip but forgot about her own clothes! Maybe it’s a good excuse to buy all things new!!

Thanks for visiting
June 8th, 2007 at 1:21 pmForgetting one’s clothes would be bad. I’d also suggest packing a spare set in carry on luggage–just in case your bags decide to vacation somewhere else.
June 8th, 2007 at 4:38 pmI shall copy this list and stick it to my fridge! Any suggestion on additions for a 14 hour trip with 3 kids…
June 8th, 2007 at 10:12 pmKristin: that sounds like a good idea. The spare set can be useful for a change of itinerary!
Jeannine: thanks. 3 kids? I haven’t tried that. i would say get them some games that they can share, some healthy snacks, bring their favourite books and tell them in advance that if they are good, they will be rewarded!
