our business updates
This is our second month of being employers to two new staff and today, we have to ask one of them to leave. I’ve heard this common complaint of how tough it can be in employing the right people to work and now, we are experiencing it. It frustrates us that the work assigned has not been carried out properly and productivity remains an issue with these two staff. Though one of them claims to have the experience of working in an accounting San Diego firm but her performance won’t showing much.
Our Guerrilla Marketing event with Jay Levinson is only but one month away and we are still working on breaking even. Each seminar seems to be more challenging and this makes us rethink our business model and plans for next year. Moving forward, we have faith to break the 200 number though we are at 130+ now. I am also negotiating on a new program on professional image management with an experienced image consultant/speaker for a possible event this October. Refusing to look back, we are pressing on, standing firm and holding on to our faith, looking forward to better and newer things.

Back when I ran my own law firm, I burned through secretaries as often as Murphy Brown. Remember her? It got to the point where I stopped bothering to remember their last names. I’d hire one based on her stellar performance in an interview and an excellent resume, then find she’d rather file her nails than file my filing.
Good thing I can type 160 wpm myself. I saved a fortune that way.
Don’t forget: you can outsource a lot of work these days at very reasonable rates.
