next google update is coming
I have been reading about the coming google update that is happening anytime this month. While I wouldn’t bother too much about search engine optimization or link popularity a year ago, things are quite different now. For those of us who write paid reviews or are involved in blog advertising, we know that page ranking does affect our blogging status and performance. This is also why companies, webmasters and businesses are spending money on – to optimize their websites to increase web traffic and its web presence among the search engines. To do that, more and more companies are paying for SEO services, all with the objective of increasing its link popularity. For those who are new in SEO, linking to websites with high page ranks can help to give your websites a push. Of course, there is more about optimizing a website than linking to high ranking sites.
While we await eagerly for the next google update, let’s continue to explore the world of SEO in this cyber community.

Google and other search engines do care who you link to but to increase your traffic/rankings/pagerank you need websites with good pagerank to link to your site, not the other way around.
Want more links to your site?
- submit your site to directories
- submit your articles to article directories
- submit some press releases
- comment on other sites
- offer to guest blog on other bloggers sites
- put your link in your forum signatures
- buy text links (stick to just the home page or single posts if on a blog)
- offer free blog themes or templates with your link embedded
Great ips, Jeff. thanks for sharing them here.
- write content that gets people linking to you (linkbait)
- start blog memes
- start blog contests
Doing all those things will increase your backlinks. When and how much you do them is really the science of SEO.
That’s just the off-page stuff. There’s a whole other area in terms of on-page SEO you can and should do as well.
Hope that helps

Jeff
