As I dwell on the topic of education, I can only empathize with students who have big dreams in their lives but struggle with tuition fees due to either lack of financial aid or poor family background. I came from a middle class family so when I decided to pursue a higher education after my diploma, there was not sufficient financial help at all. And I couldn't qualify for any student loans as the bank required a couple of guarantors for this and I had no one to ask help from. Thus, I waited and delayed my study plans till I saved enough after few years of employment. Even then, I took a small loan from a friend so as to save the trouble of admin and paperwork from the bank.
For those of you who are planning to take up a professional career program or study , and in need of financial aid, you may find out if you qualify for Stafford loan program. There are two types - subsidized and non-subsidized - and being a government guaranteed loan, the interest is lower and there are deferred payment options available.
