a time to de-stress
It was something I wanted to do for a long long time yet I never really had the opportunity to do so. So finally, I responded to a text message few days ago to attend a baking class yesterday. It was a session conducted by a famous local bakery figure, who specialized in cheesecakes. The recipes for the session were Chocolate Coffee Cheesecake, White Velvet Butter Cake and Golden Cream Buttercake.
Being a first timer, it was great watching pastry chef Catherine Lau whipped up those cakes in action - it was so fun! I met few people there and could tell that they were seasoned attendees of Catherine’s class. The main reason for being there, other than knowing how to bake better cakes, was to de-stress. I needed to get away from the keyboard and computer screen for a while and do something different from the norm. I did it and it was nice.
What I’m trying to say is sometimes, work at home moms or home office women need to step out for some fresh air to be recharged and renewed. It can be a cooking class, going to the library, watching a movie, shopping, learning a craft… anything that you enjoy. A time to yourself, away from work and the mundane can be beneficial to your mind and being. Do something different today!
