taking a break from the mundane

Being a Mac user, I used to envy some of my friends who could download lots of interesting online games at their leisure. I must admit that I used to be addicted to computer games in my younger days but not anymore. I have been out of touch of the computer games scene until lately, when I was asked to take a look at the mac games available at WinterWolves.
I decided to check out TV Station Manager, an interesting 'business' scenario game where I was asked to manage a TV station with a limited budget. For a beginner like myself, I went through the tutorial to find out how the game actually worked. While there were many mac and pc games available for download on the site, I picked TV Station Manager because it typified a reality experience of turning the company around from poor performance to positive cash flow. With 16 categories of TV programs to choose from, I had the authority to buy/sell rights to air the shows, choose ads to place in the TV programs and watch the revenue grow. I thought this was a real cool game that could exercise all my business skills of marketing, buying and selling, except that I wouldn't be negotiating personally face to face with advertisers and suppliers. But the decision making process was crucial to make or break the company's bottom line profits. The truth was if I didn't bring in enough money for the TV station or if the company ran into more debts, I would be fired! As stimulating as it could be, I was surprised that mac games these days could be so real and sophisticated. This was more than just having fun as it required me to exercise some tactics and strategy in completing the game in a good fashion.
So if you need a break from the mundane of work and life, check out Winter Wolves where you can download mac games. You may prefer something more complex or light hearted, take your pick and download a free trial.
