adversities are opportunities

It is always nice to read inspiring stories of how people rise up in adversities and move forward in their lives. Yesterday, DH told me a story about how his friend had found a job as a sales person in a showroom even in his disability. This young men lost his mobility and was wheelchair bound after a vehicle knocked him and his bicycle over few years ago. While it took him a couple of years to get over his plight, he didn't give up on himself.
He went against all odds to gain his mobility and independence again after ordering one of the straight stairlifts for himself. With that, he could move up and down of the stairs without burdening his family members. The stairlift granted him his new found freedom and he didn't felt the need of being watched all the time. Very soon, he was able to venture into some home based businesses with the help of the internet.
From his life, I learn that nothing can stop us if we have a will to achieve our dreams and goals. Sometimes, adversities are opportunities to unleash the hidden potential in all of us.
