More people focus on the wedding, than they do the actual marriage, and having a large, elaborate display does not, in any way, guarantee a long marriage, as we can already see from the divorce rates. In my opinion, Vegas weddings are much less stressful, way more memorable (honestly, if I've seen one wedding dress, I've seen them all), and more intimate. Having a show-off party with a thousand of one's "closest" friends, is not going to guarantee anything but a huge bill afterwards. Lastly, I would rather spend the $40K towards a house, than on an event that only lasts a few hours, and only serves to impress others.

Thanks for sharing, Tanya.
