a little about hilo
I had forgotten to mention that the cruise had enabled us to meet different kinds of people and open doors for various sorts of experiences.
During the shore excursions, we mingled with different ones in our tour bus, from honeymooners to a wonderful guy who was a truck accident lawyer, how cool could that be! Clayton had his own fun in the Rascals Club in the ship and even made some friends over two days!
In short, Hilo of the Big Island is a quaint little town with the Volcanoes National Park that brings lots of visitors year after year. Imagine walking and treading your foot on an active volcano! That was what we did! It was windy and a little rainy but the skies cleared up within a short time.
Hilo seems like a great place for those who want a slower pace of life with little distractions. Don’t expect big shopping malls and lots of retail action here other than being close to mother nature and raw living.
