Not too long ago, a blogger friend of mine was asking me if he should acquire his own domain and hosting. He had been using a free blogging platform for a year and realized that it was about time to move forward. Personally, I find that having my own hosting presents more flexibility and ownership benefits opposed to free blogging platforms. Also, if you have your own hosting, you can also have the option of hosting more than one site on the same account, making it more manageable.
