ranting from my home office
Today is the start of a 3-day long holiday for the Muslims who are celebrating Hari Raya (new year). I was initially looking forward to this break so that I can finish all my outstanding home office work but no, I’ll be busier than usual days!
Our relatives from the US are here and we’ll be doing lots of dinners and lunches. Then, we have a couple friend living for China and it’s another get-together dinner. My home office needs serious cleaning up, packing up and throwing out of junk! Then I need to contact a moving services company for my brother who is relocating. My little preschooler on holidays is pestering me on more water plays at the pool. It looks like my home office will be shut today and even tomorrow cos we need to be outstationed for a day trip to visit my brother in law.
I have a couple of internet marketing projects that I want to kick start but somehow, working with designers ain’t easy – they want to charge for everything – 2 similar looking design options and they call it ‘two design options as agreed’ – what a crap that is, I wonder. 2 design options should be ’2 different designs and styles’ – a similar colour tone, a shift in left sidebar to right and a little touch here and there doesn’t mean a ‘different design’. It’s easy to fool anyone but not a graphic designer, which I have been practicing for more than 10 years! I sincerely hope that all web designers will be open, pro and honest to their clients. This would give them a good name, credibility and sound reputation in years to come.
