Work at Home Mom on Bangkok
Since jumping on the blogging bandwagon and becoming a work at home mom few years ago, I got to know some nice people in the blogosphere whom I often share ideas and thoughts with. One of them is a work at home mom of two kids and is now working in Bangkok.
The crackdown on the protesters in the city of angel was one that sent shocks to many parts of the world. So I was concerned of how my friend was doing and with thanks to today’s advanced technology, she was updating us via facebook and messenger chat. She can still keep in touch with friends in the Net and even received birth announcements from another friend who lives thousands of miles away.
I am glad that the suburb where she lived is safe though the kids had to be brought home due to the massive destruction in the city. Working from home is a comfort cos she doesn’t have to worry about being caught in a bad traffic caused by the protest. I know there are many work at home moms in Bangkok who can still continue their work from their home offices. But it’s is sad to know that many will be out of job due to the destruction and fire in the city.
As I appreciate how technology has allowed me to keep updated with events happening around the world, I hope that Bangkok, once known as the city of angel, will soon restore peace and harmony in the country.
