One thing we have learnt since arriving here in Brisbane is that, you need to compare prices before you buy anything. It was shocking for us to discover that price comparisons can save us lots of money when we start shopping for office furniture and equipment.
The week has been rather crazy for me these two weeks and besides settling my son in his new school, I’m hoping to know more moms and increase my social network. We are enjoying our family life more and hoping to do more things together. With the great outdoors in Australia, it’s a pity just to stay at home on the weekends. The floods is over and the heat has been rather intense in the last few weeks. It is a typical summer’s day and I believe many families are heading to the beach this weekend. We were supposed to go to Moreton bay but hubby had a gout flare two days ago and we had to postpone the trip. Today, I would be searching for some Best Buys online cos I realize that there are lots of good deals in the internet.
Hubby is getting our new business in place and he would be doing more networking soon. The small businesses here are ready for internet marketing and it’s time for us to strategize our business goals and plans for the year. There is alot to be done to kick start our new online business and it’s time to get the ball rolling as we enters the month of February. It’s amazing how time flies and very soon, we will be in the second quarter of the year!

My son has started school for two weeks and I’ve been busy settling down and getting myself familiar with the school’s programs, activities and systems. The home office is looking good and we need to get a few shelving units to organize all our stationery and files.
Weekends is what I look forward it. I like to go to the park and take a swim in the warm waters. Last weekend, we spent our Saturday afternoons at the beach and the sun’s heat was so intense! School is getting more fun for my son and I’m glad he’s like it. At the age of six, they are already taught to save files in their usb drives and they need to learn about presentations too. My son is new to public speaking so hopefully the training at school will help him to be more eloquent in his presentation skills. He lacks the boldness at this stage and it’s good to learn these skills when young.
As for me, I’m pretty happy with this home office and it’s nice to look out in the windows when I’m tired. Looking into the bushlands and parklands will be nice when you work at home. It gives one a sense of serenity when you have had too much of the computer screen. Hopefully we can have a new house with a home office that gives me the views I want and desire. In Australia, it’s common for people to work from home as many parents need to fetch their kids to and from school. Besides it offers flexibility and freedom of time compared to many other professions.
