After being here for almost four months, hubby has finally settled down in the new home office and he had even gotten few important things done for the new business.
This afternoon, I managed to send out our business cards for printing and I hope they arrive in time for his workshop end April. He has been working on some mobile marketing campaigns and he’s so excited to kick start the business. He spoke to a few people about it and he was surprised to hear that many do not know the potential of mobile marketing. After a few days of dedication, he finally completed our mobile marketing site and he’s now searching for good keywords to work on. I’m very proud of his achievement and these little successes are meaningful milestones for us. We are happy that so many things can be done from a humble home office and this proves that this is working for us here too. We spend alot of time doing research, from reading wix reviews to searching for good keywords for our niche sites. I can tell that DH is very motivated with his new business ideas that he wants to tell the whole world about it!
Well, as much as he’s getting all excited, I hope he hasn’t forgotten to celebrate our coming anniversary in mid April. I wouldn’t want to work that day, I told him!

When you work at home and are in the online industry, having a good internet connection is crucial. It’s hard to be productivity when the internet isn’t working or your computer isn’t cooperating. I’m sure you know what I mean.
Few weeks ago, our internet line was giving us problems and we could hardly get our online work done. It’s frustrating when you are working from home and the connection is out. The upsetting part was that, it would come on after seven and that would be family time and I had to spend those hours cooking, preparing my child to bed…etc. It was silly that they were working at their convenience and the consumers like us had to suffer. I aired my concerns and demanded for a credit during the few days of outage. They were reluctant but they did it in the end.
I’m quite simple person when it comes to home entertainment but my work at home dad isn’t quite the same. Because we spend our time at home for work and relaxation, he makes sure that he gets a good enough home theatre system wireless device for himself. Sometimes he would leave it on the whole time and I had to remind him that we have a home office!
It can be hard drawing a line between work and play when you are working from home. But if you stay focused, this is definitely possible with a little practice.

I know it sounds crazy to many of my stay at home mom friends but I’ve been shopping alot of private shopping clubs these days. It gets addictive sometimes especially when I’m in my home office all day so I do need to distract myself from those good buys.
Shopping online has become a mainstream activity for many people, especially those who are working at home most of the time. I still go out to the stores for groceries as I like to feel and touch what I’m buying for the household. But shopping for other things such as apparel and healthcare products can be done so conveniently without leaving the home. Do you know that people even buy brakes online? I am still productive in the home office cos I’ve been rather used to balancing between work and home outside the office. Then when the clock strikes four, my parenting duties will begin. It’s alot of juggling but it’s turning out quite well. My son and I get to do some outdoor things when I’m not so busy with my work on some days and that makes him happy too.
Quality time spent at home is made possible because of our home office and I must remind myself not to take that for granted. I become forgetful on some days and my productivity wasn’t as good as it should be. With school holidays coming back in two weeks’ time, I’m ready to take a slow-down from the home office and do things out there in the outdoors.
