Hubby is leaving for a long trip and in the next few weeks, I’ll be organizing some things in the house before my turn comes. It’s that time of the year where we take breaks from our home office and replan for the new year.

When we think about giving from our wealth, most of us think of giving financially. However, there are other ways of giving from our wealth. Some of those ways are right in front of us every day. Next week, I would need to clean up the underground shelter and do some serious cleaning up. When it comes to giving, here are a couple of considerations.

1. Clothing. Clean out your closets and drawers of all clothing that is either too small or too large to fit you. Also, get out any clothing that you have not worn for a long time. Donate those clothes to a charity or church that will reuse the clothes or sell them to raise funds.

2. Books/Toys. Don’t stop with cleaning out your unused clothing. Go through all of your books and any toys that might be in your home as well. If they don’t get used, put them to good use by donating them.

Working from home is a blessing and as parents, it is our responsibility to create a happy and safe environment for our children. There are many ways to gain closeness within your family. These simple steps are designed to give you a head start and help you create the family life you have always wanted.

Give your children the opportunity to speak openly and freely about their concerns and troubles. This is a sure-fire way to increase your family’s closeness. Maintain honesty and you will find that problems get solved quickly and easily. Instilling open communication in your children will also help them in all aspects of their lives later on. “Listen” with an open heart and a willing spirit. Don’t judge the thoughts and feelings of other family members. Instead, try to understand where they are coming from and figure out solutions to ease their problems.

Spend quality time together each week. Many parents have full-time jobs and it’s difficult to fit in time for relaxation and leisure, however, it’s very important you make time for your family. It can be as simple as doing a family project together. Doing fun things together brings family closer. Perhaps go shop for barnwood furniture together or organize a family BBQ with friends. Discuss what things the family would like to do together. Try to pick activities that encourage talking and interaction like bowling for example will enhance relations better than silently watching a movie in a theater. Try to keep the activity lighthearted and fun. Laughter bonds better than anything and its affects will ripple throughout your life.

Some of us who work from home have problems with staying organized because we are often too busy with organizing our kids’ lives.

I have read that organized people get more out of life, more out of the time they got, actually more of everything, you could think that a lot of time is spent planning or organize, but eventually this time invested in preparation saves a lot of extra time in damage control.

We got used to thinking of organized people in a certain way, but today more and more people see the advantages of daily routine and general home organize techniques. This involves organizing things in the kitchen, bedroom, your home office and even medicine cabinets in the house.

Your home is the place you should invest in the most, it is where you seek comfort and rest, some relief from a stressful and competitive environment. Almost everyone will agree that time spent at home should be used to ensure and promote the happiness of its owners. Will it surprise you to learn that studies have shown that home organize can decrease stress levels, and that a disorganized home increases stress levels and creates situations in which people avoid spending time at home.

But the real question here is this, how bad is your home or your home office, how disorganized are you, and how much effort you will need to organize home?. The answer to this is one, it doesnít matter if you have a 2 room apartment and its completely messy, or you live in a one bedroom apartment and it needs some work, you need to start thinking of how you can organize home and try and do this on a regular basis, so it stays organized.

The weekends is here again and what more, Christmas bells are ringing in every corner. This is the time where many work at home moms take a break cos the kids are on holidays and it’s just the right time to wind down too.

We have finally made our big move to Australia and it’s our second day in the city of Brisbane. Though we are staying in a serviced apartment, we are already flipping through magazines on outdoor spaces for the new house. I’ve been so busy the last few weeks that I believe I won’t need to lose any weight at all. My Lipofuze
will be put on hold as I get busy with all the errands done.

Coming back to outdoor spaces, it can be fully used as another room when entertaining a few guests or as an evening getaway for family time. To be a real room, the outdoor area must function at dusk or at night as well as it does in daylight. To add to the function of the outdoor room in the dusk and evening hours, lighting must be considered. By night, outdoor living and dining spaces can be engaging and romantic.

The space is created into a quiet room where conversation or good dining holds great significance. Low-level lighting in outdoor living and dining rooms is preferred. The outdoor space becomes a real living room when illuminated by the soft flicker of candlelight, lanterns, or by beautiful outdoor lamps.

Instead of a single light source at night, the outdoor space can have any different types of lighting placed at various heights. New outdoor lamps are weatherproof and weighted meaning the outdoor room can be a cozy, evening gathering spot. The outdoor room, above all, is deemed a romantic destination in the home come nightfall, and it’s lighting most often reflects that.

So if home improvement isn’t what you are working on, then it’s time to ring those Christmas bells at home too!

Here’s part two of how you can stay organized in your home office.

Now that you have your home office organized, set aside a few minutes at the end of your workday to keep it that way. Try to end the day with a clean, empty desk. You will appreciate it the next morning. This will also prevent you from ever coming across a huge pile of papers again.

Add a personal touch to your office. Bring in some pictures of the kids; add some pretty plants, inspirational quotes, or anything else you can think of that will make your office a pleasant place to work in. In addition to getting and keeping you in a good mood whenever you step in your office, you are more likely to keep it clean and organized if it is a place you treasure. So splurge a little on some special office dÈcor. Keep a shelf of your favourite books. I have a section where I put my health books, from weight loss pills that work books to detox program references. I also have some magazines that I can flip through when I’m taking a break from work.

Let’s talk about the files on your computer. You can waist just as much time searching for an online document as for a piece of paper. If your computer is used for work as well as for personal use, create a work folder and use subfolders for particular employers, projects etc. Again, come up with a file system that works for you and keep your work files separate from your personal files. This is particularly important if other family members access the computer as well.

In addition to your regular files, you also want to keep your emails organized. Let’s be honest, we have all wasted time searching for a particular email that contained some vital information we needed fast. Setting up folders for different clients and projects has worked well for me, but again find a system that works for you and stick with it. Sort the email as soon as you read it. It only takes a second or two to drop it in the appropriate folder, but will save you a lot of time if you have to find it later.
