Well, well, well… school has started and life is back to normal for me again. It’s back to waking up early and preparing lunch for my boy to take to school. I haven’t had much time in the home office cos I’m running around getting things done and easing back into the schedule.
There are a few things lining up for me and we are leaving for a short trip to Melbourne tomorrow. I am hoping to eat more good food there and do some shopping in the city. Shopping for some equestrian clothes is in my list of ‘to-do’ and I really hope the weather isn’t as cold as they say. I don’t mind the cold but what I like to see is some nice sunshine. My boy will miss school for a few days and I’m a little uncomfortable with that at first. I’ll be taking a break from our home office business and I’m looking forward to catch up with some close friends.
That’s it for now and I’m off to packing some last minute stuff and head to bed for some good rest.

The school holidays is ending soon for my little man at home and soon I can be more focused in my home office business. It has been hard getting things done when he came pestering me to play with him. I suppose this is what we have to experience with a one child family.
We had a lovely time at the mountains with some friends last week and it was just so cold. I wished we had the heater with us, I wished I brought my beanie and I wished I brought my insulated jacket! But we won’t so equipped and DH had to light the fireplace every morning and night! We had to sit in front of the fireplace to keep warm and any where else in the villa will be super cold!
The walking trails in the mountains were nice and it was good that we had our car fixed before the trip. We managed to organise roadside assistance and other emergency details in case we were stuck somewhere in the mountainous roads. On our way home from the mountains, we stopped by this beautiful water hole for a nice bbq lunch.
Though we only had a short trip this time, we did enjoy taking a break from our home office business and spending time with our little man in the outdoors. Next time, I just had to be more prepared when I’m traveling in the cold winter!

Sometimes women who work at home get mistaken for being ‘housewives’. Well, in a way, we are half home makers and half home office women. It doesn’t matter what people say about us as long as we enjoy what we do.
One of the challenges I faced as a work at home mom is to strike a good balance between work and chores and it gets more complicated when little junior returns from school. I am happy to say that I have juggled well after six over years and it does helped when little junior started school too. Since moving to Ozzie land, I have been keeping myself busier with lots of things such as baking and cooking. I absolutely enjoy it! I think I look forward to bake more than sitting in my home office!
It’s school holidays now and I’m keeping little junior busy with some kid games when I’m doing my own stuff. What I like about my current situation is that I can adjust my time and set my priorities according to the situation. However, I’m a little worried that some of my friends who are visiting me think that I have lots of time to take them places when they are here. As much as I would like to be a good host, I do hope that they would be more independent in their travel plans.
It’s time to continue packing for our family trip to the mountains tomorrow… it will be a good break from the home office for sure!
