What I can’t leave home without…
I was reading Violet’s recent Thursday Thirteen on what were the 13 things found in my handbag. I share some of the items in her list which includes my handphone, keys, wallet, digital camera and notebook. But there is one very important item I cannot leave home without, that will be, my credit card.
In Malaysia, snatch thieves are common and thus, I don’t have the habit of carrying too much cash with me. Even for DH, he would charge all our company’s purchases and entertainment with credit cards. I must say that this has become such a convenient mode of payment, so much so that many people have abused it. These days, a string of rewards come along with credit card spendings and these charges are converted to reward points, which are linked with shopping perks and vouchers.
So, if you ask me, I can leave the home without my wallet but I should at least have my credit card with me. I do believe that you should not charge to the card more than what you can afford. Knowing your personal limits and being wise financially will not land you in credit card debts. It’s about being wise, good discipline and self-control.
