I often have friends asking me how one can earn money from home via the internet. Infact, they still find it hard to believe that there are many women who work from home and making enough money to replace their full time jobs.
Research has shown that consumers want to spend more online and that the internet is fast becoming an integral part of their lifestyle and it’ll continue to be so. Having said that, online consumers are cautious with their money and they want to buy from sites that are credible and before they part with their money.
If you are planning to building an online business via affiliate stores, you need to first focus on a niche market. Don’t be everything to everybody. Instead of trying to dominate a huge and general market, you should focus on a niche or specific topic or product range. You can get niche ideas online or offline. Search the internet such as google news or yahoo, visit your local bookstore and head to the magazines section and you can find many niche ideas.
Focus your online business on a sizeable market or a defined group of potential customers for your specific niche. Address the need for a product or service that’s not being addressed by the big boys. It is less competitive to target the areas or topics that large businesses won’t want to be in it. The key here is to find a niche market, assess the needs of the market and then offer them your products and/or services that meet their needs. There are millions of niches out there, from something as specific as Blue Cross NC healthcare to kids’ wooden toys. It’s really up to you. There is a market for almost everything – you just need to take time to find and identify it.
After finding your niche, you can look into creating an affiliate store using an online store creation application such as datafeedr. I have been using it for more than six months and I’ve been impressed with the system’s usability, support, performance and results. Some online marketers have seen good sales profits with a short time using affiliate stores while others may take a little longer. There is no magic formula to it – it’s down to using the right SEO strategies, choosing the right niche with buying market, time, determination, patience and efforts.
You can be one of the women who work from home and profiting from an online business. Learn from those who have had successful in internet marketing, model them and track their benchmark success stories., It’s always wise to learn from the mistakes of other people than learning from your own mistakes. This can cost you less and shorten your route to online business success.

Back in the home office, I have been busy with my Eco Living Affiliate Store and I’m glad to say that it’s completed!
If you would allow me to do a little buzz for my little home business. This eco living store is created with the eco friendly advocates and supporters in mind. You can find a wide collection of eco living gifts and products from Eco Living household stuff to eco clothing, eco bags, eco jewelry, organic bedding and even eco natural bed and bath. This simple eco living store is created with a very user friendly affiliate store building software called Datafeedr and what I like about it is that, it allows me to add products to the online store anytime I want. I must also commend Datafeedr for its good support and professional advice whenever I run into any trouble with my affiliate store building process. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to set up an affiliate store for his or her home business. You can set it up easily from your home office in minutes once you are familiar with the software.
In weeks to come, I will be adding more eco gifts like sports gifts, birthday and anniversary gifts…etc as well as eco friendly beauty and cosmetics items to this new Eco Living Online Store while researching into more niche affiliate stores for my home office business.

Over the last couple of weeks, I had completed two affiliate stores and now, it’s the time to work on them. I’ve been reading blogs of those who earn money from home to gain encouragement and inspiration. I have to tell you that life as a work at home mom is not a bed or roses. Nevertheless, it’s a decision I have made and I’m sticking to it!
In the past, I spent most of my time updating my home office blog and my list of other blog sites. Then I forget that I need to work on bringing visitors to my niche sites if I want my home office business to grow and increase in profitability. That’s the reason why I have been spending time on building backlinks via article submission and keyword optimization.
Like it or not, a small investment may be needed if you are serious about earning money from home – just like any off line business. There are many internet marketers who will tell you all you need is a domain and hosting and with free blogging platform, there is no hosting costs. But what they didn’t tell you is that this method may take years before you can see some traffic coming in or some adsense clicks to your niche blog or site.
Lately, I have invested in a few back linking strategies (see my right sidebar icons for reference) and I’m seeing couple of my niche sites ranking well on SERPs. So instead of spending 80% of my home office time on writing, I’m adjusting my priorities. I use majority of my time on back linking for my affiliate stores and niche sites and the rest of my time on writing and researching.
On the weekends, I focus on spending time with my growing preschooler who is active, curious and fun. We set lizard and spider traps around the house to keep those pests away and do fun things like painting and stenciling together. Basically I stop my work at home duties on the weekends and focus on parenting and family time.
Yes, all of us like to earn money from home but let me remind you that building an online business takes weeks, months and even years. Don’t expect success overnight and don’t be fooled by internet marketing hype and talk that you can earn five figure in one month. This is baloney – absolute baloney.
