Working In the Home Office Comments Off

Posted on September 23, 2010 by dc

Some think that there is no stress working in the home office but those who have working from home know that this is not true at all. We moms are especially stressed out when our children are not eating well or listening well to our instructions. And that spells stress!

I’ll be very busy with packing starting from today onwards. In fact, I’ve already started to do some but I know I need to speed up. First of all, I need to throw out the clutter and there’s lots to throw in this home office. After working at home for seven years, we’ve accumulated alot of things and it’s time to put them away. I can’t wait to get rid of my old table and chair which have been giving me some back problems. I’m already decided on an adjustable and chair for the new home office.

Hubby is outstationed and I’ll be busier. When he’s around, there’s someone to keep an eye on my boy when he’s alone upstairs but with hubby’s absence, I would be more tied down. My son’s birthday is coming up and I haven’t even sent out the invitations! With the amount of stress levels surmounting, I might need to find acne products that work! They say that pimples can be caused by stress!

It’s friday tomorrow and I’m actually looking forward to the weekends. Then again, weekends is a busy time as I need to play chauffeur to the boy for his music, gym and chess classes. It will be some time before I can take a break again – sigh!

Work at Home and Look Good Comments Off

It doesn’t mean that if you work at home, you don’t need to spend time and efforts to look good and presentable. Assuming you have a hubby who has a day job and he would love to come back to a presentable mommy.

My hubby is a work at home dad and yet, I like to look good when we both work in the home office. Some days, the supplier or courier man might drop by and I don’t like to look frumpy or sloppy. As a matter of fact, self image affects how you feel about yourself and it can affect your self confidence level. It doesn’t take alot to look good and all you need is a neat hairdo and a set of smart casual when you are in the home office. No, I don’t doll up. I just put on my neat casuals so that I can be prepared for any visitors to the house. Yes, I have heard of people working in their PJs but please don’t take that in the literal sense! If you have a problem with your face, get a mild acne treatment to clear it up. Basically you should respect yourself and your role as a work at home mom.

So if you haven’t been out for a haircut, it’s time to do so. Don’t let the overwhelming parenting and work at home schedule overtire you. Be nice to yourself.

The Work at Home Mom and Fitness Comments Off

Posted on September 22, 2010 by dc

Today, I’ll be spending some time to list down the things I need to do as I countdown to our official move in December. I am a very blessed work at home mom who have been enjoying the freedom of time and that allows me to do things I like.

My hubby is a disciplined person when it comes to work and his health. As a work at home dad, he wakes up early every morning and does his exercise and weight training. I wish I am as disciplined as he is in this area of fitness. Well, I may not need to search for the best diet pills that work but I know of many work at home moms who would. When you stay at home, you tend to confine yourself unless you make a point to do some outdoor activities. I used to head for my Pilates classes but had since stopped when my instructor went for her maternity leave.

So one of things I need to do is to get back to fitness as it only makes sense for a work at home mom to be healthy and not feeling lethargic or sick. This way, you will enjoy your parenting and work experiences more while you prepare yourself for busy days ahead.
