Happy New Year to all home office women (and men, of course)! It’s a new beginning with a dashing new dreams and hopes for many of us who work from home or plan to do that in the new year.

I was reflecting on my years working from our home office and can’t help but thank God for this wonderful opportunity. Today, online business is a popular trend as shoppers get to go to different places without leaving home. And with the economy crisis knocking on our doors in 2009, many business owners have since ventured into online business to make money on the internet because it requires less investment startup costs.

While there are many reasons why more people are working from home via an online business, here are some other reasons:

1. Your startup can be simple and low in costs – all you need is a computer, and a high speed internet connection.

2. Any corner in the house can be a home office – a study room, attic, or your bed side computer table is enough to be little working area.

3. You don’t need huge capital investment.

4. There are lots of no cost or cheap options on how you can make money on the web.

5. You can save money on gas as you can just sit at home and make money online without living home.

6. You can do without overheads such as a whole team of staff or employees for online businesses. Almost everything can be outsourced online too.

With the few simple reasons on why more people are choosing to work from home, I’m not saying that it’s a rosy and easy journey. As much as people will search around the web to gather life insurance rates and quotes, they will also buy from others and not from you. Competition is keen and fierce in the online world too. What it takes is lots of effort and time on research, smart planning and wise execution. With today’s easy access to online information, your dream to become one of the successful home office women can be realized with dedication, patience and hard work. Keep your dreams alive!

The weekends is always beaming with excitement and fun for those who work at home cos that’s the time you put aside your home office duties and take a break.

For me, it’s another busy one with school holidays and somehow, there seems to be many birthdays coming up for this month too. I will be busy shopping for Father’s day gift for the man in the house and this is such a big task for me every year! Perhaps I should search for online greeting cards for a change since it’s convenient and cheaper. It will also add a nice surprise to hubby’s mailbox too.

On my home office front, I’m hoping to start a few more niche projects in the next couple of weeks. It can be challenging earning money from home when this active son of mine is demanding for more attention and time from me. I am glad to say that after many months of hard work, I am seeing some fruits for my niche sites as far as serps is concerned. SEO is so important if you are planning to earn money from home. By now, it’s important to know that backlinking is the backbone of SEO and it is worth the effort and time to focus on that.

Since it’s Sunday, I’m taking my mind off working from home and treasuring my family time before the new week begins. Have a good Sunday.

I can’t tell you how much I look forward to the weekends again. The thing about being a work at home mom is that you tend to slip into your home office and read emails, do some work instead of taking a total break. I admit that this is not what I like to do.

Working from home is great but it is important to strike a balance and take time off for the children and family on the weekends. This has been a very busy week for me. I’ve been creating new niche sites, building backlinks for my new niche sites and checking out a few other internet business software. Like I said before, the schedule of a work at home mom is always full!

I still managed to take time off once a week to attend my pilates fitness class and soon, I’ll be starting my swimming class. I am excited!

This week, I’ll be building another niche site with the Revolution themes I bought and working on more link building for my home business. There are also some official duties for the home office like getting a toll free number, signing up for an article generation site, write more articles for my niche sites and doing more internet marketing research.
