Well, well, well… school has started and life is back to normal for me again. It’s back to waking up early and preparing lunch for my boy to take to school. I haven’t had much time in the home office cos I’m running around getting things done and easing back into the schedule.
There are a few things lining up for me and we are leaving for a short trip to Melbourne tomorrow. I am hoping to eat more good food there and do some shopping in the city. Shopping for some equestrian clothes is in my list of ‘to-do’ and I really hope the weather isn’t as cold as they say. I don’t mind the cold but what I like to see is some nice sunshine. My boy will miss school for a few days and I’m a little uncomfortable with that at first. I’ll be taking a break from our home office business and I’m looking forward to catch up with some close friends.
That’s it for now and I’m off to packing some last minute stuff and head to bed for some good rest.

After blogging for more than five years, I find myself taking it slow and easy this year. I think the move has slowed things down in the home office and I find myself indulging in other hobbies and passions in the last six months.
Just the other day, I was talking to hubby and he was suggesting that I start a new blog on my baking and cooking experience. I love the idea but I need to find time to get it done now. It’s been hard when there are so many things I want to do, I like to do and I have to do. I had this friend who was asking me to teach her how to blog and that’s one more thing on my plate now. Well, some friends were asking me on how to increase their blog readership.
I was telling them that one of the ways to increase blog readership is to think about doing a series. A series is a great way to keep a reader coming back again and again. You can do this for all kinds of topics, from a health specific one to an insurance one such as providing info on cd annuities
. In addition, if you are linking back, you can get readers looking at multiple posts even after you are done with the series. Be careful when doing a series, because you do not want to frustrate readers. However, if you have a topic you genuinely think you should handle over a period of time, then a series can really help your overall readership. If you are curious as to whether or not a series is working for your blog, then check posts. See if readers are posting through the series to see if they are following you. If they are, then your series is a success and you are only helping your blog readership.

Sometimes women who work at home get mistaken for being ‘housewives’. Well, in a way, we are half home makers and half home office women. It doesn’t matter what people say about us as long as we enjoy what we do.
One of the challenges I faced as a work at home mom is to strike a good balance between work and chores and it gets more complicated when little junior returns from school. I am happy to say that I have juggled well after six over years and it does helped when little junior started school too. Since moving to Ozzie land, I have been keeping myself busier with lots of things such as baking and cooking. I absolutely enjoy it! I think I look forward to bake more than sitting in my home office!
It’s school holidays now and I’m keeping little junior busy with some kid games when I’m doing my own stuff. What I like about my current situation is that I can adjust my time and set my priorities according to the situation. However, I’m a little worried that some of my friends who are visiting me think that I have lots of time to take them places when they are here. As much as I would like to be a good host, I do hope that they would be more independent in their travel plans.
It’s time to continue packing for our family trip to the mountains tomorrow… it will be a good break from the home office for sure!
