On some quiet days, I will reminisce my childhood in my home office and smile at those fun occasions with my brother, my playmate for most of my childhood days. What I treasure about being a work at home mom is that I can watch my child’s milestones and be his teacher and mentor on those moments when he’s out of school.
Though we are modern home office parents, we are still keeping TV games from our little preschooler. No matter what they say about playstation 3 or computer games, we are putting that on hold for now. We are thankful that Clayton has shown interests in reading from a young age. As an adult, you most likely would not spend hours trying to learn something that you have no interest in simply because someone told you that you “have to” learn it, right? Children are no different. This is why it is very important that we work at home parents help our children find reasons why they should learn to read
Most children will quickly learn how to read once they find a good reason to do so. Maybe your child desires to hear more stories than you could possibly find time to read to them. Or maybe they want to learn how to play a game, or use the computer. What ever it is, helping your child find reasons to read is just as important as the reading itself.
Be sure to provide daily examples of the many motivations to begin reading. Talk with your child about why you are reading and explain to them the opportunities that await them when they can read. Give them examples:
* To understand how to play a new game (learning how-to)
* To learn more about the ocean (a way to get information and news)
* To write a letter to Grandma (personal communication)
* To be able to read great stories (enjoyment)
With ClickN’ READ Phonics
Reading can be so much FUN for your child.

If your child has history of eczema, it’s necessary to pay special attention to the skin care and personal care products used on your child. Many will continue to wonder why many some health conscious parents are investing on
organic cotton clothing for their kids. Isn’t that taking things just a little too far, they ask in their hearts?
It is important to realize that the difference between organic and conventional cotton is in the use of pesticides and insecticides in the farming process. Numerous chemical baths and treatments are used for conventional cotton and in addition, dyes that sometimes contain heavy metals are also used. As for organic cotton, it is dyed with low-impact environmental dyes or dyed with natural colorants such as clay and is processed without the use of chemicals and either left natural. This may explain why
organic cotton products may cost slightly more.

My preschooler has been coming home with stories to tell. This work at home mom here is always curious about his messy school t-shirt and it’s fascinating to hear about his cooking expeditions in class. I’ve never been too adventurous in inviting him to join me in my daily cooking. As a work at home, time can be scarce and I’m not ready to clean up messes!
If you are considering cooking with children you need to make sure you have the proper ingredients on hand before beginning. Choose simple recipes for a start. You certainly do not want to be caught without that cup full of patience you will be requiring nor do you wish to need to leave in the middle of things for a run to the local grocery store to pick up the missing ingredients.
