As I am writing this post, there are thousands, if not millions of people out there who are earning money from home on the internet, either part time or full time. Since many of these individuals (work at home moms included) work in the comfort of their own home offices, they set their working hours and choose wherever they want to live. Besides, they have full control over their free time and can do the things they love to do.

So why exactly are some of the reasons why many choose to earn money from home and some have even chosen this option over the corporate ladder. Here are some of the reasons that motivate many people to work from their home office all year round.

1) Unlike a business in the world out there, an online business DOES NOT need a lot of start up money. All you need is an idea, a domain name, internet connection and hosting and all these don’t require much investment.

2) Having an online or internet business means you don’t need to follow the 9 to 5 working model like many people. With a home office, you don’t need to wake up and head to work when your children are still in bed. Even if there are late nights, they are done at home and you can plan your time accordingly. You can start work at anytime since you’re your own boss!

3) You can work from the comfort of your own home. Where you put your computers
is where you’ll be working! And since you are working from home, you will save at least two hours of traveling time from home to your work place. There is no need to beat the traffic rush and get stuck during peak hours.

With the internet, the whole world is your market! By working at home in front of your computer, everyone in the world is now within your reach. You leverage on free or low-cost software and hardware and the Internet Infrastructure, all of which when combined will give you leveraging power that far exceeds any conventional business, allowing you to achieve more and more with less and less work!

One of the main problems that deter a work at home mom‘s success is their lack of concentration. Lapses encourage disturbances to get in the way and stall progress. For a work from home mommy wishes to proceed on their road to success, it is important for her to learn how to concentrate. Here are a few suggestions you can implement as you strive to maintain your focus.

1) Eliminate or cut down noise
Most people cannot concentrate when it is too noisy while others work better with music or others in the midst of a crowded room. If you are not aware as yet what best suits you, then try out various different environments. How? Take a notepad and a pencil or pen with you and try and write down a letter in all the three circumstances in a set amount of time. Ten minutes. That is all you will need to determine where your source of concentration lies. How? Check not only for length but also for development as that is more important.

2) Identify your focal point:
Every morning, before you leave for work or on the way, stare at any object for ten minutes. You can do this while in the toilet, car or bus. You will find this difficult, but whatever happens, do not move your gaze away. Hold it. Wait. And then, as the minutes pass you will find yourself deeply meditating about things that happened to you yesterday or challenges you have to face in a few minutes.

3) Practice deep breathing:
In the beginning, you can do this while staring at the object from tip number two, but if you wish to move towards real concentration, do this separetly. Sit down on the floor. If its hard, place a cushion. Close your eyes. Breathe. Count the number of inhales. When you have reached 100, start counting backwards but this time count the exhales. Mastering this will take you a while, but once you do move on to other kinds of mathemathical calculations such as naming the months of the year from December backwards or alphabetically. After that, make up exercises as you like.

It takes time to identify the factors that work best but upon knowing it, it will be worth it.

Learning to be more organized is something I want to work on this year. As a work at home mom, it is very important to be organized, otherwise the whole house and home office can be a big mess in no time. Besides, it will increase my productivity as I will save time from having to search and locate things in the office.

Besides learning to more organized, I am working towards better health in 2010. I’ve always been a believer of natural health remedies and organic health solutions. Though I don’t need diet supplements but I do take other essential vitamins for my health needs. Being an allergy sufferer, I need regular in take of Vitamin C and my favourite super food has to be spiriulina, a green algae that contains lots of vitamins. Personally, I believe that to be effective in a home business, I need to keep my health in good shape, especially when there are lots of emotional demands on me as a work at home mom.

While the road is not smooth sailing sometimes, I am still thankful (everyday) that I can work from home and have a simple home office. I will choose that over a luxurious office in a big building… I suppose that’s not my calling for now.
