We had just returned from a five days break in Bali. The nice thing about being a work at home mom is that you plan your own schedule and you don’t need to apply for time off when you want to. It’s nice to enjoy that flexibility but it also requires lots of discipline.
Bali is a lovely place to relax, unwind and catch up with well deserved rest and quality family time. We had a good time with each other – swimming at the private pool and strolling along the busy streets of Seminyak and Kuta. I made it a point not to do any work except for clearing my emails. And with wifi in the room, it’s easy to answer emails too. Bali is modern and contemporary; artistic yet cultural. We like this place for gourmet food and tropical clothes shopping. It’s a great place to hang loose, take a break from the hustle and bustle and be pampered by the sun and surf.
When you are an internet marketer or if you have a business that allows you to work at home or anywhere in the world, it is sheer pleasure. It feels good to know that work can be done no matter where you are and you don’t need to worry about reporting to work on time. While I was in bali, I noticed that many villa owners have tapped the online technology and promote themselves in the web. Many travelers are turning to online booking in their accommodation and itinerary planning.
My work at home hubby bought a heap of nice tropical shirts while I settled for a few simple souvenir t-shirts. I was going to buy a pair of ugg boots but I couldn’t find a reason for it. My little boy was just happy with few children’s DVDs and that kept him quiet during our in-room massages
After the few days of break, it’s back to the grind and it’s another trip out before I warmed up my seat in the home office.

No matter what sort of business you are involved in, I always believe that you need to set aside some investment for your business. So if you want to be a work at home mom or dad, be ready to begin this journey with a small investment. The good news is, the investment is far lesser than a traditional offline business.
There is no magic to online business. You need to put in efforts to learn, research, explore and work on the success of your new business. Perhaps your first investment would be to buy a domain name and that is if you have decided on what you plan to do. The choice of your domain name should be carefully considered for SEO reasons. Godaddy offers discounts and promotional codes that enable you to save so always check for coupon codes before buying a domain. I just received a 30% off all domains discount code (enter: gda835c ) yesterday. This code applies for both new domains and renewal. You never how a smail investment such as buying a domain for a start can lead you to a profitable business. But before you even get started, make sure you know what you are in for. Be ready to work hard and put efforts in all that you do.
Enough of discount codes, I’ve been shopping online for women’s dresses and children’s products and find that I’m saving more by doing so. These days, it can be hard searching for the style I like and though I work from home, I haven’t been able to get to the mall to shop for dresses and clothing. With online shopping, the options are much wider and i get to do it at the comforts of my home. You can even look out for discounts during seasonal promotions to save a bundle!
With the weekend leading up, why not start shopping online for some summer dresses to update that wardrobe of yours!

Sometimes I get questions from work at home moms who ask me about search engine optimization and online directories. With today’s technology advancement, most of us derive information online opposed from the traditional methods of flipping yellow pages.
Online directories have been around for a long time since the internet began, and without them and search engines we’d have no simple way of navigating through the sites. Today, there are thousands of directories online, which can make it very confusing to determine which are giving you the best quality information. You can search for all kinds of useful information from directories, whether you are searching for medical assistant school or rental apartments.
But the truth is, many online directories are no better than junk as more people try to make money from these directories. Unfortunately, with Google’s AdSense program, it has become very profitable in some cases to put together a directory just so you can run ads on it. Some work at home moms have used these methods to earn some online income. However, you need to know that these sites are automated and not informative or beneficial.
The best directories are the ones edited by dedicated humans, not dedicated servers. That’s because a human being knows what you really need to know, while a computer doesn’t care. Examples of these are Yahoo!, which has a search engine component, but still maintains its directory content; and Dmoz, an open directory run by volunteers that also has pretty good quality content. These directories, and the many quality paid directories that exist, will be around for a very long time.
