With today’s online technology, there is an expectation that business owners should have a website for their business. If a company does not take care and pride in its website, you tend to assume that they don’t take care and pride in providing products or services.
The website that you conduct your home business on is a direct reflection of your personality and your business. The appearance counts on all fronts – professionalism, content, organization and value of products and services. Aesthetics have a value so don’t underestimate them. If you are marketing a weight loss product, make sure you list down the important information about your products, stating the benefits and ingredients. Testimonials send powerful advertising messages to your target audience.
Content is the most important consideration for your home business website. Content should have value and links should be relevant. When a visitor visits to your site, the objective of his visit should be fulfilled. If not, the visitor moves on to the next and may never come back. If you want that the visitors stay at your site and come back to it always provide quality content and keep changing it every now and then. Give the visitor a reason to come back.

It’s the weekends and I’ve been so busy the whole day running errands and being the chauffeur to my kid that I didn’t even find time to sit down to read the papers! I told myself not to step into the home office on the weekends but due to some pressing datelines, I have to spend a short time getting things done before retiring.
My home office business is hardly shut on the weekends even though I try not to do any work at all. I reserve the weekends for the family and doing things with friends. I don’t want my boy to start thinking that life is all about work and nothing else. Striking a balance can be hard for my workaholic hubby, he finds it hard not to step into the home office on the weekends. Sometimes, I need to remind him about priorities and family time.
Tomorrow is a Sunday and I’m definitely not going to do any blog post – I promise! I’ll probably end up flipping some of my health books to find out solutions of allergy relief for my boy while playing some computer games with him – part of bonding and family time. With technology advancement, the way we spend time together has added more diversity too. So yes, the home office will be officially ‘off’ tomorrow!

With some goals in place for the New Year, I’m planning a work flow schedule for my home business this week. As it is, I’m working hard to balance my parenting and work duties at home, sometimes I wonder if I would ever have time to learn a new skill, something that is not related to work.
I am someone who believes in personal growth and development. I long for more time to do my favourite things outside the work scope and love to get out and breathe some fresh air. If you ask me, parenting is one of the natural fat burners, and the children can wear you out at the end of the day. But weight issues aside, all work at home mommies should consider some form of wellness solutions. Join a gym, start the day with brisk walking, go for a beauty treat, have coffee and a time out by yourself and not forgetting, catching up with your spouse regularly. Sometimes we get too busy and we forget about our loved ones.
So my work flow for my home business is going to be less hours in the office at night and more time allocated to learn something new – for my personal growth in the area of wellness. I’m not sure what you plan to do but start the year right and make sure you see to it.
